About Farewell To Our Beloved Queen - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022
Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and a symbol of stability in a turbulent era that saw the decline of the British empire and disarray in her own family, died at the age of 96 on Thursday September 8th, 2022 after 70 years on the throne.nnNobody lives forever, but deep in our hearts we hoped that Her Majesty would go on to exceed her beloved husband Prince Philip’s 99 years, and maybe even equal the record of France’s Louis XIV, now still the longest reigning monarch with an astonishing 72 years on the throne.nnShe never expected to become Queen, the huge responsibility was thrust upon her with the early death of her father King George VI.
