A charge from DiscountMags that you did not expect is almost always a magazine subscription renewing through DiscountLock. Nothing is charged without two emails first, and every renewal can be reviewed, refunded, or turned off from your account.
Check the charge in about a minute
- Sign in to your DiscountMags account.
- Open My Orders. Every renewal is a regular order with its own order number, date and amount, so you can match it to your statement.
- Open DiscountLock in your account menu to see which subscriptions are enrolled and when each one renews next.
Why the charge came before your subscription ran out
DiscountLock renews on the anniversary of the term you bought from us, counted from your order date. It does not track the expiration date printed on your magazine label. If you already had a subscription when you ordered from us (for example one you bought from the publisher), the renewal can process while that earlier term still has months to run.
Renewing early costs you nothing. The renewal uses the same name and address as your original order, so the publisher adds the new term to the end of your current one rather than starting a second subscription, and today's discounted price is locked in before the publisher's next increase.
Pick the option that matches what you want
Keep the renewal
Do nothing. Your subscription continues without a gap, at a price at least 10% below the publisher's list price.
Stop future renewals, keep my subscription
Turn off DiscountLock for that subscription. Your current term continues to its end and no further renewals are charged. This cannot be undone for that subscription.
Cancel this renewal and get a refund
Cancel the renewal order from My Orders. Cancel before the process date and it is refunded in full; within 6 months after, you get a pro-rated refund of any unsent issues.
Before you dispute the charge with your bank
A bank or PayPal dispute freezes the order for up to 80 days while it is investigated, and we cannot refund or change it during that time. Cancelling from My Orders, or asking us, is faster and gets your money back sooner.
Not a renewal?
If the charge does not match any order in your account, someone may have ordered a gift for you (a gift order is listed in the purchaser's account, not yours), or you may have a second account under another email address. Contact Customer Care with the date and amount of the charge, how it appears on your card statement, and the last four digits of the card, and we will find it. Never send your full card number.
